While the seats at the K are certainly not dusty, the idea of inserting a stage is… Until now!
On Jan. 19, it was announced that legendary musician and piano man Billy Joel will be performing at Kaufman Stadium on Friday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m.
This will be the first concert held at ‘the K’ since 1979. The last concert there featured Santana, REO Speedwagon, the Little River Band and Pat Travers. Ticket sales start on Jan. 26, and will most likely be a short lived opportunity.
The six time Grammy winner has toured all around the world, and plays every week at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York, and is (in fact) about to break the record number of concerts by performing his 100th concert for The Garden.
Billy Joel is America’s third best-selling artist of all time; selling more than 150 million albums, and 23 million of his ‘Greatest Hits’ albums.
It would be an honor in many ways to have this legend perform at the home of the 2015 World Series champs. While it’s silly to compare the gates of MSG to the K, we still can’t help but stand back and gape in awe at the legendary combination of Kaufman Stadium and Billy Joel.
So save up your next few paychecks, or blow the bank if you have to… You won’t wanna miss this!
