Chiefs Fans Thinking Big after Win in Philadelphia

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 27-20, in the first home game of the season for the Chiefs on Sept. 17 .

Quarterback Alex Smith threw for 251 yards and one touchdown, adding eight yards on the ground.  Rookie RB Kareem Hunt followed his NFL debut with 81 yards rushing, and two touchdowns, as well as 28 yards receiving.  While these two were definitely great the best performance may have been from defensive end Chris Jones, who had three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.

Following this week’s game, South students had a variety of thoughts and expectations for the rest of the season.

Kris Tinoco, junior, said “I expect an AFC Championship appearance.”

Brennon Bailey, an avid NFL fan and Seahawks fan predicted how far he thought KC will go in the playoffs.

He said, “Lose in the first round of the playoffs to the Broncos.”

Chiefs fan Alex Rodriguez, junior, talked about whether he thought Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs quarterback First round pick) would start next year.

He said, “I believe he will, because they drafted him in the first round for a reason, and he will be paid less than Smith is now.”

Only time will tell if any of these questions will be answered for the Chiefs, who are now 3-0 after being the Chargers last Sunday.
