The JV girls’ basketball team is playing in the “Court Warming Game” this Friday at 4 p.m. at South against Truman High School.

There are 17 players on the Girls’ JV Team and the coach of this team is Marissa Henderson.

There will be a lot more people at this game than there are at regular games because it is the game right before Court Warming, which is on Saturday, Feb. 11. Also, it is going to be a double-header.

Bali Cortes, a freshman player on JV, said, “Before a big game, I put on my beats, turn up my music really loud, and focus on the game.”

Sarah Gardner is a freshman JV player who recently moved up from Freshman Team.

Gardner said, “I think our biggest challenge for our team against Truman will be maintaining our lead since we’ve beaten them before and shooting down the main shooter.”

DQ Guillory, a freshman who plays on both JV and Varsity, has been playing basketball for three years. Guillory said she is excited to play Truman because she knows they will “crush them” because JV beat them by 20 points last time.

Isabella Zyniewicz, freshman, said that she is going to the game and is very excited to see her friends, Guillory and Cortes play. Zyniewicz thinks it will be good experience to see all of them play and win.

“I know Park Hill South will win,” she said. “They’ve beaten Truman before and I know they can do it again!”
