It’s safe to say that October can be one of the best months of the year. Fall is finally here, the smell of pumpkin spice is in the air, and Halloween is fastly approaching. For the amusement park “Worlds of Fun”, it’s time to breakout the dry ice, and evil clown costumes, and get ready for the annual Halloween haunt.
Every year around the beginning of October, “Worlds of Fun” hosts a special event featuring an abundance of haunted houses and staff members dressed up in frightening costumes. Even if you aren’t big into being scared out of your socks, the roller coasters and rides make the trip down to the park worth it.
“Me and some friends go down to the haunt every year,” said Chandler bailey, a junior here at south, “it’s pretty fun, we always have a good time.”
The haunt also features a parade at the entrance of the park full of zombies, vampires, mummies, and every other nightmare you could think of. The parade marches for about ten minutes, setting the tone for the extreme fright that awaits you beyond.
“I’m not in the parade myself, but it’s cool to see every year and we get a lot of positive feedback from it.” said Jeff Tonely, a member of the Worlds of Fun staff.
If you’re ever looking for something to do with friends or family on a dark October night, Worlds of Fun’s Halloween Haunt is worth checking out.
