The Zombie Apocalypse has finally arrived… to AMC. Season five of The Walking Dead just premiered on Oct. 12. It shows on Sunday’s at 9/8 central time.
The show focuses on survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse and their journey throughout Georgia. The first episode of season five starts off with Rick (the leader of the main group in the show) played by Andrew Lincoln. His group is in a train car where they have been trapped for weeks. They went to a “sanctuary” where they thought they were safe, but it turned out to be a place where they eat other humans.
Rick Grimes was the sheriff in Atlanta before the “zombies” took over the world. Rick is the main character in The Walking Dead and is featured in about every episode.
Rick and his group are trying to get a man named Eugene to Washington D.C. to get to a terminal and hopefully end the Zombie Apocalypse. In Episode three of Season five they finally start their route from Atlanta to Washington D.C, but Eugene gets so upset and tells them he has been lying and is not a scientist.
The Walking Dead started its season premiere with around 5 million viewers and by the third season jumped up to around 10 million viewers. By the season four premiere it had broken cable television records with over 16 million people watching the premiere.
If I had to give the show a rating it would be a 4.5 star because it is exciting and has so many plot twists but is super gory and some viewers may not like blood and guts.
If you are looking for a great television show to start watching I recommend The Walking Dead because it teaches life lessons and if there is ever a Zombie Apocalypse you will be studied and ready for the zombies.
