All-State was this past week.
The Music Department at South will be represented by 11 band players, two choir singers and an orchestra player at the upcoming All-State Music Festival.
As I watched the auditorium fill with chatty students, coming up with my own topics of how this assembly was to go, the lights dimmed and we turned our attention to Austin Meyers, (12), dressed in his best.
In the past five years, South hasn’t had any choir members advance to the All-State Choir level. This year, however, two students are included in the elite group.
