Who didn’t love “Friends”? Not loving “Friends” would be like not loving puppies. It’s pretty much impossible.
A show’s final episode is always the most important episode of the series to me and I think the director of “Friends” did a phenomenal job of giving us everything we needed to let the show go and have closure.
The last episode ended with Chandler giving a very moving speech to one of the two babies he shares with Monica. Then the gang of six puts each of their key copies on the counter. They leave our favorite apartment for the last time and head down to the infamous Central Perk for their last cup of coffee. Mon’s apartment felt like a second home to me.
The finale dotted all our undotted i’s and crossed all our uncrossed t’s. Monica and Chandler finally got their happily ever after with two babies and a beautiful house outside the city. Ross and Rachel inevitably ended up together with a gorgeous baby girl named Emma. Phoebe and Mike tied the knot with a lovely yet unexpected street wedding. And Joey heads to LA to further his acting career.
The last scene was one of the most powerful TV show scenes I think I’ve ever seen. I don’t think anyone could have done it better.
I would give this episode a 5 out of 5 stars because it was such a well put together episode and they did a good of wrapping up all ten seasons in one episode.
If I could change one thing though I would have never made it because who wanted to see them go? No one of course! But we knew we had to let ‘em go. They felt like our own “FRIENDS” though, didn’t they? No, no, our own family.
