South students have been let down many times this winter in terms of snow days.
In the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation of snow days. Kansas City was supposed to be hit my a major snow storm and was predicted to possibly have a snow day on Feb. 7, but students were let down as the cold front blew right past Kansas City.
Eliana Rosario, sophomore, says she enjoys snow days, because she likes getting caught up on sleep.
In total, South has had two snow days this school year, on Jan. 11 and Jan. 16.
There is some debate on whether snow days are good or not. In a Twitter poll where 56 people voted, 82 percent of the votes were “Yay!” and 18 percent “Nay!”
“I think snow days are awesome, I really like the little breaks and I honestly never notice getting out of school one day later whenever it comes to summertime,” said Cameron Gillespie, sophomore.
Abby Ahrent, freshman, said that she doesn’t really like snow days because she doesn’t like adding days to the end of the year.
Winter isn’t over quite yet, so most South students are hopeful at the possibility that there could be more snow days in the future.
