The Dreadful Awakening

There have been a ridiculous amount of research projects trying to help the sleep deprived students and teachers, but nothing ever changes. School starting so early in the morning only has negative effects on students, teachers and sometimes even parents.

It has been proven that school starting so early actually hurts the students learning abilities in the classroom. Park Hill South starts at 7:30 A.M, which is much too early for everyone.

Sydney Warren, sophomore, also thinks that we wake up much to early 5 out of 7 days of the week.

“ It’s close to impossible to wake up in the morning and same goes with paying attention in class, ” said Warren.

Michael Verhoeven, sophomore says he totally agrees.

“I always take a glance around the room while the teacher is talking to see if anyone is actually paying attention, all I can see is students struggling to keep their eyes open, including myself sometimes,”  said Verhoeven.

Ask almost anyone, everyone will agree that students are forced to wake up to early and it heavily impacts our learning.
