2017 Homecoming Dance Gets Mixed Reviews

Students throughout Park Hill South have had a variety of opinions on this year’s Homecoming dance. The students did not hold back on what they believed went well and what did not go well at the dance that took place Sept. 16.

Homecoming is a highly anticipated event for many students at Park Hill South.

“Every year, Homecoming is something that I really look forward to, and many of my friends do as well. It’s always a good time and as a member of the Student Council, I really enjoy putting on the event for the school,” said Alex Gardner, junior.

Many people not only look forward to the dance, but also the activities that go on throughout the week.

“The fun part about Homecoming is that it is not only one night, but pretty much a whole week. You got your parade, that exciting dress up days that I go all out for, the Homecoming football game and last but not least the dance! And let me tell you, they did a fantastic job with everything this year,” said Jack Chaney, junior.

Although many people at South shared Chaney’s optimism about this year’s dance, there were a handful of other people that thought this year may have not been so fantastic.

“I went to the dance this year and everything was fine up until I actually got there. The setup was alright, but the DJ was playing awful music which really made for a boring dance. I also wasn’t a big fan of the theme this year,” said Jake Powers, sophomore.

Like any event at South, this year’s Homecoming had a variety of different reviews on how well it went and how fun of a time that it was.
