The Courtwarming dance is coming up this Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017.
It is the second dance South has had so far this school year. The dance is from 8-11 p.m. and will be held in the large gym. Freshman had a unique take on attending Courtwarming.
Annie Woodson, one of the two freshman candidates, is going to the dance with a group of friends. She is wearing a little black dress and some red heels.
“My sisters never did that and always wish they did just to go and have fun, and not have to worry about having a date,” said Woodson.
The other freshman candidate, Cameron Gillespie, is going with his girlfriend of one and a half years. His favorite part of highschool dances is going to dinner, and having good food.
“It’s fun to eat with friends, it makes you feel kinda like an adult for a night,” said Gillespie.
Woodson and Gillespie will be appearing at the assembly, in the Courtwarming game, and at Courtwarming. They are both very excited.
“I feel very honored, I wasn’t expecting it, it’s a lot of work but I like it, “ says Woodson.
Evan Oathout, freshman, likes going to the dances because it’s fun to dance around, but says that the music is “not my style.”
“Chillin’ with the homies, going to dinner, and getting dressed up” are Oathout’s favorite things about going to dances.
Whether they were going with dates or friends, these freshman looked forward to Courtwarming and what it had to offer them.
