Interested in Airsoft? Don’t know what it is? Don’t know how to get started? All these questions can be answered in this article. I will walk you through on the basics, the rules, and everything else that you may need.

Safety comes first. Even though airsoft guns donot do any serious damage, outside of a game, you should practice normal gun safety. Don’t point it at anyone unless you are in a game. Next is eyewear. Goggles should do fine, as long as they are not tinted. Have some sort of face protection. This can be really anything. Mostly mesh masks and plastic face masks work, but sometimes even some scarfs can provide the protection needed.

Next is the actual airsoft guns. You need to consi
der a lot when buying these. To start You will want a AEG, an Automatic Electric airsoft gun. Most websites will have the type of battery the airsoft gun will require. An important point to make is that airsoft guns do not take normal batteries. They take rechargeable batteries with different voltages. Make sure you get the right voltage so you don’t mess up your airsoft gun.

Rules are very important to all courses. If you don’t want to get in any trouble you need to always check your course rules. Next when buying your gun check your Feet per second (FPS). Any Automatic guns will be limited to 400 FPS and lower by almost all course standards.

There are, sadly, not many places to play airsoft nearby anymore. There used to be a great one in Downtown KC, but It just closed. There is one really good course though. Its Mako, in Lawson MO. It’s an abandoned Missile base and it’s great fun.

These are just simply the basics. There are many other things you can do to help your experience. Weather you are a returning player, or a brand new one, I hope you found this guide helpful.
