Sophomore forward Carlton Bragg is no longer a Kansas Jayhawk. Bragg has been suspended for a violation of team rules, the suspension is not related to the investigation of alleged rape at the Ku campus dormitories. The former McDonald’s All American was averaging 6.8 ppg and 4.8 rebounds. Bragg entered the 2016-2017 season as a predicted break out player, he was predicted to make a big jump after a promising freshman season. It hasn’t happened, instead under performing isn’t his biggest issue.
This is Bragg’s second suspension this season. Earlier in December, Bragg was accused of domestic violence and suspended while the case was still being investigated. A video later that month was released of the girl that accused him of domestic violence, the video showed the girl beating up Bragg and the case was dropped.
Connor Lee, Senior, has been a huge KU basketball fan for as long as he can remember and will attend KU for college.
Lee says,”Carlton Bragg needs to hang out with people that will help him be successful. He needs to focus on helping KU become a better team, this suspension should hopefully make him change how he acts.”
For now, the Kansas Jayhawks hope to try and have a successful season without one of their rising stars. Hopefully Bragg can learn from his mistakes and bounce back bigger and better.
