Pitch Perfect 2 Review

The sequel to the 2012 movie “Pitch Perfect,” “Pitch Perfect 2” the Bellas are back, or as they would say. “We’re back pitches.”

Ever since they won their first national title, the Barden Bella’s have been competing in a cappella competitions all around the country, until one little incident blows their whole career. At Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Barden Bellas got the opportunity to perform in front of the president, Barack Obama himself. It was a great performance, and the president seemed to be enjoying it a lot. When they were at the finale, Fat Amy, while curtain dancing, slipped and split her outfit right open.

Back at Barden University, the principal and two major a cappella announcers said they couldn’t compete anymore, unless they won the World Championship Of A Cappella competition. Through hard work and bear traps, the Barden Bella’s won the championship against the talented German group Das Sound Machine.

Some strengths of this movie would be the actors, and the director. The Bellas, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and new Bella, Hailee Steinfeld, all of these actresses were the perfect spot for this movie for their looks, and their amazing voices. The director was the very talented Elizabeth Banks, as well as also being in the movie, she was the a capella reporter Gail Abernathy-McKadden.

Another strength would be that they cleverly incorporated many cameos in the movie  such as Christina Aguilera, Pentatonix, Snoop Dogg, and more.

Released on May 15, 2015, and given a 6.5/10 by IMDb, the movie has won many awards for the little time it has been out, including five Teen Choice Awards, one MTV Movie Award and a People’s Choice Award.

If you are a fan of girl drama, a cappella, singing and Anna Kendrick, than this movie is perfect for you. It is confirmed that there will be a third Pitch Perfect movie. But it won’t be until December 2017. I would rate this movie 10/10. This movie personally gave me goosebumps just by listening to the Bella’s voices. This series has the perfect cast with perfect voices. Maybe that’s why its called “Pitch Perfect.”
