On April 23, 2016, most of the upperclassmen will be dancing the night away at Prom. Emily Carter, senior, will be going to prom for the fourth time, and Anna Lattera, sophomore, will be going to prom for the first time. The experience of prom and getting ready for it is different for everyone, and may be different depending on how many times you have previously went.
How long do you think it will take you to get ready for prom?
EC: 4 hours, from start to finish
AL: probably about 2 hours.
How much money are you planning to spend on prom?
EC: $650 on everything.
AL: I’m having people (my friends) do my hair and makeup, and I’m wearing a hand-me-down dress from my sister. I will only be really be spending money on nails and stuff so only about $50 or $60.
On a scale of 1-10, what would you rate your anxiety for prom?
AL: Probably a 4, since i’m a sophomore I’ve only been to court warming and homecoming, I don’t really know how everything goes down.
Do you have any expectations in your head as to what prom will be like?
EC: I’m expecting good music, good food, and a really good night with all my friends.
AL: Not really, I’ve heard good things about it so I’m just expecting it to be good
Do you feel the pressure of having a “perfect prom”?
EC: Not really, everyone wants to have a good time, but since I’ve been all four years, i’m terribly worried about it being perfect. I just want to have a good night with my friends
AL: I don’t feel the pressure, because you can’t force it, you just have to have a good time.
