Unbroken by Laura Hillebrand *****

This book is a world to survivor’s story. Not just any survivor, this shares the inspiring story of Louie Zamperini. Grown up as a troubled boy and then gave himself hope and discipline to be an Olympic runner. Although he started with no motivation for success he became determined with his running. This is the fight that carried him through the unbelievable tragedies he faced. Drafted into the war, he became part of the air force. (The first thing he overcame) He ended up with his plane being devoured and left stranded with one of his missions with four of men. Helpless and loss they got kidnapped into a Vietnam prison of war camp. Being treated as expected he fought through hunger, torture and abuse, sickness, and being worked to the breaking point.

This book was so phenomenal to me because this story was so raw, the detail was exquisite. It’s an emotional ride from hopelessness success. The author writes from the deepest parts of Louie’s mind it channels it within you as well. You are left breathless page after page with his struggles. Almost begin feeling the pain in the thoughts of his mind and injuries in his body.

I recommend this incredible book to those that can take the gut wrenching details. The readers that like to have every thought and feeling shared. It is action packed and you get this crazy emotional relationship with Louie. If those are qualities of the stories you enjoy I know you will be just attached to this book as I was.
