The Road to the Cup: Game 1

Tonight Sporting Kc begins their road to the MLS Cup against a formidable Portland Timbers side featuring the likes of Diego Valeri, Darlington Nagbe, and former Sporting player Jack Jewsbury. The game will take place in Portland since Portland finished with a better record in the regular season than Sporting did.

This is a major advantage for the Timbers. Playing on the road is always hard, but it will be even more difficult in Portland. Their home stadium, Providence Park holds 22,000 of the loudest fans in the MLS.

Since neither Sporting nor Portland is missing any notable players, the game tonight will be one to watch. Sporting is on the road so they will most likely play more defensive in the beginning and look to steal a goal in the last minutes of a match.

If Sporting wins they will play Vancouver in a two legged affair for a place in the western conference finals. If Sporting loses, the club will look to rebuild and make additions for another title run next season.

The game starts tonight at 9 pm central time. You can watch it on 38 the Spot locally or on Unimas anywhere else in the United States.
