The Royals have been playing with electric crowds and an entire city behind them during the 2015 postseason. However there are some other factors that could play a huge part in defeating the New York Mets.
The Mets have one of the toughest pitching rotations in the league. The top three consist of Jacob De Grom, Matt Harvey and Noah Syndergaard in no particular order. Each of these pitchers consistently can throw mid 90 mph.
Connor Lee, Junior said, “I think if we’re patient and swing for base hits, then the pitching won’t be a problem.”
Even though the Mets pitching staff has proven deadly for opponents batters, Kansas City has a couple pitchers of their own by the names of Kelvin Herrera and Wade Davis. 2.85. That is the era, earned run average, of Kansas City’s bullpen. Their bullpen could really be the answer to New York’s hot bats.
Each team has a countless list of superstars in the roster. For the Royals these players are known as Alcides Escobar, Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain, etc. These players have played big all year for the Royals and are expected to perform at nothing but the highest level in Game 1 of the World Series.
When asked who will have the biggest impact during Game 1 Turner Hall, Junior said, “Esky because when he gets on we always find a way to win.”
Daniel Murphy has a been extremely hot since the start of the postseason and doesn’t seem to be cooling down. Giving him anything to hit could come back to haunt Kansas City.
Any of these factors could tie into a victory for either side tonight, but in a series like this with teams like this, tonight is truly up for grabs.
