With the suspension of Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk, the spotlight falls onto a Lees Summit high school graduate Drew Lock. Lock was a four star recruit out of Lees Summit and the NO. 96 prospect overall in the class of 2015.
Maty Mauk is suspended for this Saturday’s game against South Carolina for “disciplinary reasons related to a violation of team policies,” the Columbia Daily Tribune reports.
The true freshman, Drew Lock, threw for 9 yards in his short appearance late in the fourth quarter.
“I am not expecting much from Drew Lock, I think this will be a good opportunity for him to get his feet wet,” says Ben Becker, sophomore.
Although Lock has played a limited time at Mizzou, he was a standout in high school. He threw for 2,717 yards with 28 touchdowns his senior year at Lees Summit, so he is definitely capable of doing big things for the Tigers.
“I think Drew Lock will do well, he has some experience, and he was very good in high school,” says Abbey Whisnant, senior.
With the QB that Gary Pinkel had faith in suspended, it is Drew Lock’s job to go out and win a football game.
