The Kansas City Royals have a Wild Card spot in the American League. Right now, in the playoff picture, Kansas City would face off against the Oakland A’s at Kauffman Stadium, on September 30th. This game would be aired on TBS. In my opinion, this is huge. The last time Kansas City was in the postseason was in 1985 when they not only won the AL Championship Series against Toronto, but also the amazing World Series against our in state, NL team, St. Louis.
Kids of my age have never seen the Royals go to the postseason. This is the time to “Be Royal Kansas City!” There are 11 games left to play for Kansas City which begin tomorrow against first place Detroit. On the hill for tomorrow’s game is Jason Vargas for Kansas City and Justin Verlander for Detroit. This game will be aired on the radio on 610 Sports Radio. It can also be watched on Fox Sports Kansas City and ESPN2.
The Royals end their regular season in Chicago against their division opponents, the White Sox. The Royals just finished their three game series against Chicago, taking two out of three games from Chicago here in KC.
