Justin Bieber was arrested on Jan. 23 for driving under the influence and drag racing a rented Lamborghini in a residential area of Miami Beach.
Bieber confessed to drinking a beer, smoking marijuana, and taking anti-depressants before getting behind the wheel.
The pop star resisted his arrest and appeared incoherent to the police officer who pulled him over.
Fan of Bieber, Gena Cockrell, sophomore, thought the main cause of Bieber’s acting out was obvious.
“I think he feels like he’s been sheltered and he’s finally becoming who he wants to be, and that may not be something great but he’s still young and learning,” she said.
Cockrell believes the whole thing was blown out of proportion because of how famous Bieber is.
There has been multiple incidents after Bieber’s arrest. The teen has many charges against himself. Just hours after Bieber’s drinking and driving charges were dropped he was charged with assaulting a limousine driver.
Bieber has taken a turn with his career. One moment he was all about his music and fans and the next moment he was all about partying.
Many people would say he’s ruining his career, Aubree Wilkerson, sophomore, believes it has made him more popular. Others dislike him more because of it.
Brady Smith, sophomore, despises Justin Bieber. She said Bieber deserves punishment.
“A little jail sentence; enough to learn his lesson,” she said.
Wilkerson said it’s important that he changes his ways.
“I would get the best lawyer in town and try to straighten up my act,” Wilkerson said, “so I could get back on with my career.”
