Park Hill plays South football team Oct. 25

South is preparing for what is know as the biggest game of the football season on Oct 25. They will play their rival school, Park Hill, that night. Although it’s a month away, football players and students are already preparing for this game.

“We take on every game as it comes each week, but this game is always in the back of our mind,” said Austin Miller, senior on the football team.

Miller says Park Hill’s new football coach makes them run a very fast pace offense which could cause some challenges for the Panthers.

But as Jacob Springer, freshman, said, “This game will be just like the past two years,” where the Panthers have beat the Trojans.

Although there are some challenges to overcome, facing a new coach, South players and students are confident in themselves.

As far as South students go, Chase Whorton, senior, says this year will be better than the past because of the new twitter account for our student section.

“The account will help get the word out and help remind people of the game and our themes,” Whorton said.

Springer said he wants the crazy, loud fans. Springer said this would help the team out and keep them motivated when on the field. The crowds will be filled, as they are every year for the rivalry game, but Whorton said he plans on some past seniors coming back.

South students and players are preparing for this game on Oct. 25 and will take on Park Hill at Preston field, the district’s stadium.
