Back to some local news on this weeks edition of College Corner.
The Kansas Jayhawks yet again proved unworthy by barely beating the near awful Louisina Tech of Conference USA 13-10. The Jayhawks Big 12 schedule begins on Saturday at home against the rising Texas Tech Red Raiders, and despite the home field advantage, I see them going down by a massive amount. Kansas just does not have the offensive attack or the talent to match up the strength that the Red Raiders display.
Mizzou had a dominating win that put the Tigers somewhat back on the map, in a 45-28 statement victory at Indiana^. The Tigers are now 3-0 and the only undefeated team left in the SEC East, despite not playing in a conference game yet. Next week Missouri has Arkansas State at home and they will absolutely dominate. I do not see a loss in the near future at all.
^Dorial Green-Beckham proved to be a massive mismatch to IU’s defense, they seemed to find no way to stop him. MU’s average WR height is 6’4 and IU’s cornerbacks are 5’11.
K-State had an unfortunate game played at Texas to start off conference play. The Wildcats lost 31-21 and did not seem to pose a threat very much. Next week they play at #11 Oklahoma State with another loss looming. The Wildcats will start the year 0-2 in conference play. Their schedule does not serve much promise either, this will be a complete turn around year for them, in a good way.
Alabama stays at the top of the rankings for yet another week, with Oregon looming right beneath them.
College football excitement kind of took an off week this time, but hopefully next weekend it steps back up and we see some better action.
