Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore. If you recognize this quote than you are probably familiar with The Wizard of Oz, a 1939 movie starring Judy Garland as Dorothy.
Dorothy’s blue and white apron-like dress was up for sale during a two day auction the weekend of November 10th and 11th. The famous dress brought in an astounding $480,000.
The dress was auctioned off in Beverly Hills, CA by Julien’s auction house. It was sold along with other familiar Hollywood items like Steve McQueen racing jacket which sold for $50,000, a dress worn by Julie Andrews in “The Sound of Music” for $38,400 and a few other items. Dorothy’s dress, of course, brought in the most money.
To whom the dress was sold to is unknown.
It is yet to be known where Dorothy’s dress, which is recognized by many, will end up at.
