A ferry boat crash in Hong Kong, Monday, October 1st leaves 38 of its passengers dead, four of which were children.
Seven crew members, including the captain of the ship, connected to the crash have already been arrested by Hong Kong police for not “exercising the care required of them by law.” The ship collided with another ferry while its passengers were watching a fire work display for celebrating China’s National Day. The ship began to sink just after it ran into the other ferry. All of the boats passengers were thrown into the water.
Bodies found in the water numbered 28, eight passengers died at nearby hospitals and two bodies were found onboard the ship. Many other passengers had injuries and four still remain in serious or critical condition.
This was the deadliest boat disaster in Hong Kong since 1996.
