This show is the story of two vampire brothers who are obsessed with the same girl. In season one, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) returned to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, for very different reasons. Stefan was determined to get to know Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) who has an identical resemblance to Katherine Pierce (also played by Dobrev), the beautiful but ruthless vampire the brothers knew and loved in 1864 years ago. Damon, on the other hand, was set on releasing Katherine from the tomb where he believed she was trapped by a witch’s spell all those years ago but ended up falling for Elena as well and grew to despise Katherine.
That’s just a little summary of the first season, throughout the second season many different, explosive things happen that drag you into the show more and more. Now that I am on the third season, I have never been so hooked on a television show. The best part about this show is that is goes on and on, unlike the Twilight Series, they ended.
Vampire Diaries also has books, just like the Twilight series. Personally, the Diaries are more interesting and less cheesy than Twilight. There is way more action, and a little more rated R; which is better for the high school age group. I recommend this to all of the Vampire story lovers!
