On Sunday night, the White House officially confirmed the death of Al Queda leader, Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden, planned the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center, which resulted in the death of 3,000 Americans.
Needless to say this is an enormous victory for America. Bin Laden has affected every American. Whether it be the American soldier serving in the Middle East, or the simple inconvenience of rising gas prices,or turning airport security into a pain-staking process, Bin Laden has devastated this country.
Bin Laden was killed in a firefight in Abbottabad, Pakistan, by United States Special Forces. No Americans were killed in the fight. The body of Bin Laden was taken and DNA evidence from the Bin Laden family was used to confirm that it was in fact Osama.
President Barrack Obama addressed the American people that same night.
“Justice has been done,” Obama said.
Fewer words could sum up the feeling pulsing through the nation.
Patriotism can be felt everywhere. A huge weight has been lifted off the American people thanks to the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the Armed Forces.
I would like to thank all those bravely serving our country around the world and here at home.
Justice has been done. God bless America.
